Shevera Gunasekera


Shevera is a provisionally registered Psychologist and Counsellor.  She holds a Bachelor of Psychology from University of Western Sydney and Masters of Psychotherapy and Counselling from Western Sydney University.

Shevera has provided counselling and psychological intervention to people from the ages of 5 to 93. Shevera has a range of practical experience, that is from assessing and counselling school children, teenagers and adults, and the elderly. Shevera has practiced in schools, youth centres and aged care facilities. Shevera is experienced in working with culturally diverse communities and LGBTQI.

Shevera utilises uses evidenced based therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and play therapy. She has experience working in trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression and addiction, domestic violence, childhood abuse, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, communication skills, sleeping difficulties and PTSD

Shevera uses a strengths-based approach and believes in empowering people. She provides individualise treatment plans to allow people to live up to their full potential. Shevera is enthusiastic, encouraging, and empathetic.

Consultations are $60 for 50 minutes, with no Medicare rebates.

Shevera is able to see clients aged 3 and up.
